Glengoyne (17 year old)
Medium gold in appearance, and very fruity aroma. Very rich to tatse. Rating 7/10
Glenmorangie Aster
This is a unique Whisky. Very unusual in character and bouquet. Roll it in your mouth and just spreads like a flame. An epic malt that needs a drop or two of water to really shine. Rating 8/10
Glendronach
A light coloured malt which packs quite a kick. Nose - sweet, Body - smooth, Finish - long lasting. Rating 6/10
Benromach Tokaji 21 year old
This malt is sweet and fruity with a dry smokiness. It is a lovely bright amber colour and packs a bit of a kick. Rating 7/10
Bowmore (12 Year Old)
This is one for those that like the Island Malts with its usual warm glow as it goes over and its strong peaty/smokiness. Rating 6/10
Edradour Cask Strength
To the nose there is a woody come spicy hint. This is very thick, almost like syrup. A whisky for a special occasion. Needs a drop of water. Rating 6/10
Auchentoshan (12 year old)
A malt that is mellow while still retaining plenty of character. A method of triple distillation produces a smooth, sweet, light spirit. Rating 7/10
Glenlivet, 18 year old
Smooth and velvety, with a firm underlining. Gentle maltiness with a touch of fruit. With water, Gets creamier. Rating 8/10
Highland Park, Switzerland Exeptional Cask NO2 (14 year old)
This is a very dark coloured malt which has a rich peaty aroma. It has a superb full flavour and it is finished off with a smokey dry finish. Cask No 4888. Rating 7/10
Glenfiddich Caoran Reserve (12 Year Old)
This is a rich and softly smoky single malt with notes of orange and distinctive peaty undertones with a smooth, lingering finish. Rating 8/10
Glen Keith (40 year old)
Deep amber in colour. Nose: Sweet, sherry and Fruity. Palate: Sweet, sherry wood with fruit. Drying - peppery. With water superb!!! Rating 9/10
Glenmorangie Lasanta
The Lasanta is matured in a Spanish Sherry cask and then a Bourbon cask. Its luscious soft, mouth filling texture and its sweet aroma will appeal to all. Rating 7/10
Culloden (10 year old)
This was given to me my my good friend Ralph. This is a smooth, creamy malt which is very sweet with a peaty taste at the end. Rating 5/10
Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year old
Deep gold in colour, very smooth medium malt. A fruity malt that is warming and pleasant. Rating 7/10
Bell’s Special Reserve Pure Malt
A rich pure malt whisky. Fine yet distinctive with a rich personality and depth of flavour. A very deep amber in colour, very sweet, very like honey with a lovely warm finish. Rating 7/10
Oban (14 year old)
Oban is amber in colour with a dry smokey flavour with a distinctive peatiness in this after-dinner malt. A surprising sweetness gives this malt its character. (43% proof) Rating 7/10
Laphroaig Quarter Cask
Well although I am not fond of Laphroaig, this one I did enjoy. It is a lovely gold colour and very soft but sweet. There is a lovely change to the nose when you add water and a hint of peat to the taste. Rating 8/10
Tormore (12 year old)
This is one I picked up for my son in law. It is a deep golden colour with a medium body, spicy with a hint of citrus zest. Dry and long lasting to finish with. Rating 7/10
Bunnhabhain (12 year old)
This is a lovely golden malt which is smoky with a hint of fruit. It is a medium bodied malt but is also very sweet. Its finish is long and enjoyable. Rating 7/10
Glenmorangie, The Quinta Ruban
The Quinta Ruban is has a very good port influence - the fruit is a real delight'. The whisky is rich with hints of mint and chocolate flavours. Rating 8/10
Scapa (14 year old)
This malt is from the Islands of Orkney.Its a lovely golden colour with a sweet,silky but smooth taste with hints of honey and heather. superb. Rating 8/10
Grouse (10 year old)
Well, what can I say except that I was very disappointed with this one. It is deep gold, with a nose that's soft and a finish that tends to stay with you. Not one that I enjoyed. Rating 5/10
Glenmorangie Oloroso, Sherry Cask (30 year old)
Colour - Deep walnut brown. Nose - Rich, deep and enticing, this expression of Glenmorangie is bursting with luscious sweet and fruity flavours. Taste - Big and full-flavoured. Rating 9/10
Glenfiddich Rare Collection (40 year old)
I am very privileged to have been given a sample of this from one of my friends and what an experience. We have the aroma of honey, a taste of peat and chocolate only to finish of with a smokey finish. A great nightcap. Rating 9/10
Highland Park (12 year old)
This is a very nice malt and it has a distinctive aromatic, full-bodied floral sweetness flavour. You can smell and taste the peat and the sweetness of oak casks seasoned in sherry. A dash of water brings out the best in this one. Rating 7/10
Aberlour (10 year old)
This is a long lingering, rich, smooth, mellow malt that is matured in a sherry bourbon cask. As you will see on the web page it is a Speyside Malt. Colour; Amber to Red.Very Enjoyable. Rating 7/10
Glen Grant (No age listed)
The first time I tried the was in Switzerland with my son in law. It is a nice clear malt which is very dry with a hint of nuts. There is a herbal flavour to this malt. I really enjoyed this one and will most certainly get it again. Rating 5/10
Glenfarclas (15 year old)
A rich gold-amber with a luscious, unctuous oily oak character delicately peated. Finish gloriously sherry sweet, gently smoky-long and distinguished. 8/10
Glenmorangie (10 year old)
This malt will really set your taste buds alight.A very pale malt which leaves a velvet feel as it hits the tongue, almost like tasting a hot honey. This is rapidly followed by a very fruity aroma. Really nice, one for a nice night in. Rating 7/10
Tobermory (10 year old)
This is an unpeated malt from the producers of Ledaig, Tobermory is a gentle medium-bodied, accessible malt and is a good aperitif. Rating 7/10
Cragganmore (12 year old)
The distinctive , rather austere style of Cragganmore Single Malt Wisky is pleasing, with the taste of excellence imparted through 12 years of maturing. The perfect after-dinner malt with a good firm body, malty smoky finishThis you must try. Rating 8/10
anCnoc (12 year old)
This is soft, very aromatic malt with a hint of honey and lemon. Sweet to taste with an appetising fruitiness and a long smooth finish. This is amber in colour. My wife gave this one its rating. Rating 8/10
Glen Scotia (14 year old)
Well this is one that I have not tried before and what a surprise. This is a deep golden brown in colour and gives you a lovely peaty nose and taste as it hits the palate. It leaves you with a very satisfying glow as it rolls over the tongue. Rating 7/10
Glengoyne (10 year old)
This was given to me by Ralph as a birthday present. It is a golden yellow colour and very clear. It has a very sweet smell and as it hits the tastebuds it has a hint of liquorice. Adding a small amount of water makes it a lot sweeter. Rating 6/10
Glenfiddich Special Reserve (12 year old)
This is my favourite malt to relax with. It is a smooth whisky, with very light body. This malt has a fruity taste and goes well with a dash of water which brings out the best in it. Rating 7/10
Glenkinchie (10 year old)
Well, this is a lowland malt from just outside Edinburgh.It has a very sweet smell and is very light in colour. It has a smooth sweet taste finishing with a hint of spice. Rating 6/10
Glengoyne,Cask Strength (12 year old)
This malt is a rich oak colour and explodes in the mouth. The aroma is of sherry and toffee with a taste of honey and fruit. After you drink this the taste stays with you for a long, long time. Very highly recommended. Beware 57.2% volume. Rating 8/10
Ardbeg (10 years old)
This is one for the connoisseur. I have never tasted a whisky quite like this before.When you taste this it really gives you a kick and leaves you with a taste of iodine that takes a while to disappear. Rating 6/10
Glenfiddich Solera (15 year old)
This fascinating Scotch whisky is the 15 Year Old whose spicy flavour is partly attributable to the fact it was matured in new oak casks. It tastes silky smooth, revealing layers sherry oak, marzipan, cinnamon and ginger. Rating 9/10
Glenlivet Archive (21 year old)
This was a present from my Daughter and Son in Law and is one to be savoured. It has a very rich amber colour, then it hits the nose with a rich oak aroma. When it hits the palate it is truly one to be savoured.Only for Very special guests. Rating 9/10
Glenfiddich Toasted Oak Reserve
Well she has done it again. My wife came home with Glenfiddich Toasted Oak reserve and it is excellent. It is matured in a American Oak cask which gives it a lovely golden brown colour and a rich, sweet toffee flavour with a smell of vanilla. Rating 9/10
Dalmore (12 year old)
This is a very long lasting, rich, full bodied whisky which leaves you feeling very satisfied. It is a very deep golden/brown in colour and leaves a mixture of flavours playing with your taste buds This only leaves you looking for more. Rating 7/10
Jura (10 year old)
This malt is a deep sort of golden amber. It has a firm, distinguished tone with a fruity taste. You also get a hint of smoke. Very nice. Rating 8/10
Dalwhinnie (15 year old)
This is a nice smooth malt, very melow and really sweet. You can almost smell the heather and taste the honey. Dalwhinnie leaves you with a real smokey flavour. Rating 6/10
Glenlivet (12 year old)
My wife got me this the other night and I was pleasantly surprised.This malt is very pale in colour and gives of a flowery aroma. It is very sweet to taste and leaves a warm glow inside. Rating 7/10
